Before I ever became the founder of B4CG, before I built my bookkeeping firm, before I served contractors across the country — I was a young woman trying to figure out where I fit, what I was good at, and how to build a life that felt steady and meaningful.

What I didn’t know then was that the story I was living would one day become the blueprint for everything I’m creating now.

This Founder Series is more than a set of personal reflections.
It’s a roadmap.
A look behind the curtain.
A chance for you — the Accounting Professionals who support our builders and trades — to see the path that shaped the training, mentorship, and community I’m building for you through B4CG.

I believe in sharing the messy parts.
The real parts.
The quiet lessons I learned through seasons that were hard, beautiful, unexpected, and sometimes painful.

Because you deserve honesty.
You deserve transparency.
And you deserve someone who doesn’t just teach the work — but understands the reality behind it.

This series is my story.
But it’s also for you.

We don’t talk about the emotional side of accounting very often.
We don’t talk about the pressure of being the “responsible one.”
Or the burnout that comes from giving more than you have.
Or the fear of making mistakes in an industry that demands perfection.

We don’t talk enough about how much the trades rely on us — and how heavy that responsibility can feel.

Most APs don’t start their careers fully equipped for the construction world.
You learn it by doing.
You learn it by messing up.
You learn it by figuring it out alone.

And that’s exactly the problem.

I didn’t want the next generation of APs to have to struggle the way I did.

That’s one of the several reasons why B4CG exists.

Contractors build the world around us.

I’ve seen too many contractors nearly lose everything because the financial side of their business wasn’t supported the right way.

I’ve also seen too many APs thrown into construction roles without enough guidance, tools, or support.

B4CG is my answer to that.

And this series explains exactly why I’m so passionate about elevating the people who support the trades.

I built my career through trial, error, grit, and grace.
And I don’t want anyone else to walk that path alone.
